« There are some dates that we are sure we will never forget. Mine was February 3, 2017.
I live in the heart of the Sonian Wood. I say ‘the heart’ because my neighborhood, called ‘le coin du balai’ (broom area), represents an enclave of the city in the forest, but also this is part of my heart. It’s my refuge. When something goes wrong, I use to take long, refreshing walks. And that’s what happened to me on this gray winter morning.
On that day a kind of revelation « fell » on me. Professional and medical concerns meant that I was dragging desesperately myself into a life that no longer suited me. Or is it the reverse? I looked up at the sky and knew that my life was going to change.
I’ve immortalized that crucial moment by taking a picture of the beech trees around me. These immense and majestic trees would now be the witnesses to my new departure.
How is it possible to remember such a so intense feeling of relief? Integrating this into my new passion, the creation of contemporary jewelry, seemed obvious to me. »

Choice of material
Unpolished resin accentuates the iced effect, as frozen in memory. For this series of jewelry, Brigitte chose deliberately unsophisticated shapes to keep focus on the memory of the moment. Instead of the photo, she preferred to draw the branches in black ink on several layers of paper to give depth to the drawing. The structures of the pieces are in 925 silver.
You can see the pieces Frozen Moments at the exhibition Parures de Corps in Ciney from Jan. 10 to Feb. 2, 2020. More info here
